Grandma and Grandpa's visit

Sorry for the lack of news! Grandma and Grandpa have safely arrived. We have been enjoying their visit a lot. Here are some pictures.

Bocsánat, hogy nem jelentkeztünk újabb hírekkel. Grandma és Grandpa épségben megérkeztek. Nagyon klassz eddig a látogatásuk. Itt van néhány kép.

We visited a vineyard not far from our home and had a lovely walk and lunch.
Elmentünk a neszmélyi borvidékre. Körbesétáltunk és fincsi ebédet ettünk.

Olivér a Tescoban - ezt Grandpa kedvéért kellett ideraknom, mert ő nagy horgász és Amcsiban nem úszkálnak halak a Tescoban (ja, még Tesco sincs! :))

Have you seen these two people recently? According to our information they are just now flying over the Atlantic Ocean towards Hungary! Yes, that's right, Grandma and Grandpa are landing in Vienna tomorrow to spend almost 3 weeks with us! We are very excited to see them, one of us is counting how many times he has to sleep before they come (once! :). Actually we are so excited that we almost headed to the airport today instead of tomorrow! Have a good trip, Wayne and Carol!

Látta valaki mostanában ezt a két embert? Híreink szerint ugyanis éppen az Atlanti óceán felett repülnek Magyarország irányába! Igen, a hír igaz, holnap Bécsben landol Grandma és Grandpa és itt lesz velünk majd' 3 hetet! Már nagyon várjuk őket, egyikőnk számolja, hogy hányat kell aludni (egyet! :). Mitöbb annyira izgatottak vagyunk, hogy kis híján ma mentünk ki a reptérre holnap helyett! Jó utat, Wayne és Carol!

Pakolok.../I'm packing...

Állandóan pakolok. Nem azért, mert rendmániás vagyok, tényleg nem. Ez asszem együtt jár a kisgyermekes anyukák életével. Elpakolom a kinőtt ruhákat. Előveszem a nagyobb méretű ruhákat. Nyár elején elrakom a téli ruhákat és előcuccolom a nyáriakat, tél elején (most!) pont fordítva. Ugye tudtok követni? :) Barátnőm kisbabájának előkeresek egy pár cuccot a mi gyerkőceink babaruhái közül. Szétválogatok szatyornyi ruhákat, amit ismerősök adnak nekünk vagy a gyülekezetnek. Szétosztom a kismamaruháimat három barátnőm között, akik idén voltak áldott állapotban. Aztán a csöppségek születése után visszakapom a cuccost és elrakom. De hohó, nagy örömmel újságolja egy másik barátnőm, hogy babát vár! Akkor kezdjük előről...Na szóval értitek?! :)

I am always packing. Not because I am a cleaning maniac, I am really not. I think this may be typical in the life of a mom with small kids. I pack away the clothes they have grown out of. I take out the larger size clothes. At the beginning of summer I put the winter clothes into storage and take out the summer ones, at the beginning of winter (now!) the other way round. Hope you are following me? :) I look for stuff for my friend's baby among our baby outfits. I go through bags of clothes that people "hand down" to us or the church. I share my maternity clothes among my three friends that were expecting this year. Then, after they had their babies I get my clothes back and put them to storage. But alas, I find out with great joy that another friend of mine is expecting! So I start all over...you get the point? :)

Sheep/Bárányok

We were going on some bumpy country roads last weekend. Matthew was asked to teach a Bible study to a group and also help them get ready for their music program. We, the family, tagged along and had a good time! This is not a typical sight to behold in Hungary any more, so we were glad that we had our camera! We especially liked the random donkey among the sheep. Also notice the shepherd in the rear-view mirror.

Múlt szombaton Pápára mentünk eléggé hepehupás kis országutakon. Mattet megkérték, hogy tanítson egy bibliaórát egy csoportnak és segítsen nekik felkészülni a zenei programjukra. Mi, a család, is vele tartottunk és jól éreztük magunkat. Az úton ez az érdekes látvány tárult elénk - mivel ez nem fordul elő túl gyakran, jó, hogy ott volt a fényképezőgép! Különösen jópofa volt a csacsi a sok bárány között. Ja, és láthatjátok a pásztort is a visszapillantó tükörben!

Felelőtlenség/Carelessness

Hihetetlen, hogy egyes szülők micsoda felelőtlenségekre képesek! Igaz, hogy igyekeznek kisdedjüket távol tartani minden számára veszélyes tárgytól (úgymint kés, olló, üveggyolyó ésatöbbi), de mindezek mellett arra vetemednek, hogy egy éves gyermeküknek az autóban cumisüvegben vizet adjanak! A képre tekintve láthatjuk, ez micsoda veszélyekkel járhat!

UI: Egyébként fogalmunk sincs, hol van a cumi hiányzó része. Vagy a következő kocsi nagytakarításnál fog előkerülni (a napokban épp nem tervezünk ilyesmit) vagy ... hát szóval vagy Benjámin megette! Ennyit a mai izgalmakról. Jó éjt! :)

It is unbelievable how careless some parents can be! It is true that they do their best trying to keep their infant away from any object that may cause him harm (such as knives, scissors, marbles and the like), but they still do the unthinkable and, while in the car, they offer their one-year-old some water in a bottle! Just look at the picture and you'll realize the danger behind such a move!

PS: By the way, we have no idea where the missing part of the nipple is. We'll either find it when we do a thorough cleaning of the car (we are not planning to do this in the near future) or ... Benjamin ate it! Well, so much about today's excitement. Have a good night! :)

Wow, 4 év! Annyi minden történt ez alatt az idő alatt...Nagyon örülünk neki, hogy láthatjuk, hogyan cseperedsz fel okos nagyfiúvá!

Zalakaros

Flashback: Summer. Weather-wise, summer seems long gone. In a few short days, the weather hear has turned from hot and dry to cold and wet. But we just received these photos from Melinda's brother, Péter (who I'm sure you'll agree takes nice pictures) of our Komlósi family vacation. We wanted to share them with you.

We spent 5 days in Zalakaros in Southern Hungary. It's a scenic resort town with thermal baths, biking/hiking trails and lots of smaller attractions. For example, we took a ride through a forest on a narrow gage recreational train, we visited a buffalo reservation and a wetlands nature preserve. We spent a lot of time together playing games and eating. Enjoy the photos.

Itt van egy pár kép a családi nyarolásról. Zalakaroson töltetünk 5 napot biciklizni, strandolni, játszani, kirándulni, és a többi. Köszi Péter a szép képeket!

Óvoda/Pre-school

Today was another big day in our house. Oliver started pre-school!!! The school is down our street, is very nice and friendly and has great teachers. Oliver will go in the mornings and he had a great time on his first day!!! He loved his teachers and the new toys. I think it was a harder day for Mama. Not that I have never let go of my darling; he has been watched by other people and has spent days away from us at both sets of grandparents, etc. It's more the thought of him starting his "institutionalized schooling", which will last for the next 15 years (plus college, if he chooses to go). It's kind of a scary thought...

Ma is nagy nap volt nálunk. Olivér óvodás lett!!! Az ovi itt van az utcánkban, szép és barátságos, jók az óvónénik, stb. Olivér délelőttönként fog járni és nagyon jól érezte magát az első napon!!! Nagyon klassz volt a sok játék és kedvesek voltak az óvónénik. Asszem a nap nehezebb volt Mama számára. Nem arról van szó, hogy a kicsikém most ment el először a szoknyám mellől; sokszor vigyáztak már rá mások, töltött már több napot mindkét nagyszülői házban, stb. Inkább az a gondolat, hogy ma kezdte meg az "intézményes oktatását", ami 15 évig fog tartani (plusz az egyetem, ha diplomás akar lenni). Kicsit ijesztő a gondolat...

Party/Buli

Saturday was party-time in our house. We celebrated the boys' birthdays with family, friends, cake, and of course gifts. A great time was had by all! :)
Szombaton nagy buli volt nálunk. Megünnepeltük a fiúk szülinapját családdal, barátokkal, tortával, és természetesen ajándékokkal. Mindenki nagyon jól érezte magát!

Here is Oliver's gift. He loves his bicycle and is working hard on getting rid of those training wheels!
