It seems like this is the third "V" town we have been to in the past weeks. Anyway, as a part of our busy and fun summer, I took the kids down to Velence (a town on a lake smaller than the Balaton, an hour away from us) for two days to visit a friend and her kids. Our plan was to swim in the lake.
Well, the plan was great but the weather didn't cooperate. Not a problem, especially for me, because lying on the beach in the hot sun all day is one of the last things I like to do. :) So instead we walked around, the kids rode their bikes, climbed trees and played hard. My friend, Emő, and I tried to keep our little sheep in line and caught up on the happenings in each other's lives when they were in bed.
Our time there started with an interesting and somewhat scary incident. As we got to our friends' house, some neighbors were on the street with a big dog. Nothing special, right, so I got out of the car to unload the kids and our stuff. Then I noticed that the dog was approaching me and nobody was calling it back. It turned out that it was a stray dog and nobody knew what it was doing on that street (in hindsight, I would have appreciated the neighbors yelling at me not to get out of the car, but anyway, let's proceed with the story...). From my experience with dogs I knew the breed and that they are not known to be old ladies' puppies but tough guard dogs. Panic arose as the dog kept coming and jumped on me! I managed to push him off and then jumped in the car and rolled all the windows up. Meanwhile Emő and the neighbors were trying to scare the dog away, but they of course didn't want to get close either. So we were sitting in the car, the dog walking around, wanting to stick his head in the window... seriously, I think he was trying to be friendly but I wasn't! The kids, by the way, thought it was all very funny and kept giggling! Not sure what they would have thought if the dog had started to rip their mother apart right there in front of them...but by God's grace, that didn't happen. Somehow the neighbors managed to scare the dog away and we got out of the car (I, a little shaky) and had fun for the rest of the time. Hope your week was good too! :)
Remélem, nektek is jól telt a hét! :)
This is the kind of dog my story is about. He didn't want to look into the camera after what happened! (OK, who wants to take pictures when their lives are in danger?! I got the picture off the internet! :)
Ilyen kutyáról szólt a történet. :)
