Csak egy érdekes Olivér-féle párbeszédet szeretnék megosztani veletek. A minap észrevette, hogy Miriam bőrén a kánikula hatására úgynevezett meleg-kiütések jöttek ki (ha szülő vagy, tudod, hogy ez a piciknél szokásos és ártalmatlan dolog).

O [aggódva]: Mama, Miriam bőrén kiütések vannak!
M: Igen, láttam én is.
O: És mitől vannak?
M: A melegtől.
Mire O [egyre növekvő aggodalommal]: Bőrrák???

Úgy tűnik, a tűző nap káros hatásairól szóló felvilágosító munkám sikeresnek bizonyult! :)

I would like to share an interesting Oliver-dialogue with you. The other day he noticed that there are rashes on Miriam's skin (they came out because of the heat and if you are a parent you may know that babies often have them in the summer and they are quite harmless).


O [concerned]: Mama, there are rashes on Miriam's skin!
M: Yes, I have seen them too.
O: Why are they there?
M: Because of the heat.
To which O says [with growing concern]: Skin cancer???


It seems like my educating words about the harmful effects of the midday sun were successful! :)

Miriam is a year old today!!! Happy birthday, sweet little girl!!! :) On Saturday my family got together to celebrate the big day. Here are some pictures:

Miriam ma egy éves!!! Boldog szülinapot, kis drágánk!!! :) Szombaton össze is jött a család, hogy megünnepelje a nagy napot. Íme pár kép:

And gift giving (it was funny because Grandma Carol brought Miriam's birthday gift wrapped up when they visited in the fall and then totally forgot about it. So when the unwrapping happened via Skype connection, she was also very excited about what was in the package! :)

És az ajándékosztás (vicces volt, mert Matt anyukája még az őszi látogatásukkor elhozta Miriam ajándékát becsomagolva, aztán meg is felejtkezett róla. Így mikor Skype közvetítésben megtörtént a bontogatás, ő is izgalommal várta, mi is van a csomagban?! :) 

Viva Espana!

Well, the World Cup is over. Congratulations to all our Spanish readers out there! (I don't think there is any...) So last night we had a bit of a party here for the world cup final. Matthew's first plan was to project the game onto a wall:

Nos, vége a foci VB-nek. Gratula az összes spanyol olvasónknak! (Szerintem nincs egy szem se...). Szóval tegnap volt nálunk egy kis buli a döntő tiszteletére. Matt eredeti terve az volt, hogy kivetíti a meccset a falra:

That unfortunately didn't work out, so we watched it like this, which in itself is a miracle, since we don't usually have any TV channels.

Ez sajnos nem jött össze, úgyhogy így néztük, ami maga egy csoda, hiszen általában nem fogunk semmilyen TV csatornát.

Yes, I watched the game with seven guys! (We actually let Oliver stay up too - he was sitting right in front of the TV, so you can't see him). All in all, a pretty bad game in my opinion (especially the first half, when there was more fighting and yellow cards distributed than good soccer, which one would expect in a World Cup final) but nevertheless, a good time was had by all! :)

Igen, hét pasival néztem a döntőt! (Olivérnek is megengedtük, hogy fent maradjon - a TV előtt ült közvetlenül, ezért nem látszik). Összességében szerintem elég rossz volt a meccs (főleg az első félidő, ahol több veszekedés meg sárgalap osztogatás volt mint jó foci, amit ugye az ember elvárna egy VB döntőn), de ennek ellenére a buli jól sikerült! :)
